Document Enable SAP
Documents related to any SAP transactions can be directly made available to the user while viewing the transaction screen in SAP. Not only can documents be viewed, but documents can be added from the SAP transaction screen also. This allows users to instantly view documents without leaving the SAP screen.
Karomi document enables SAP by placing a Karomi AppConnect icon on the Title bar of the SAP client. No changes in SAP are required
for doing this. The AppConnect icon can be configured to include menus which allow users to take document related actions.
Viewing documents is as simple as clicking on the 'View Documents' menu item in the AppConnect icon. This action triggers the reading of key fields on the SAP screen, quering the Karomi Document Management system with these key index fields and retreiving documents that match this search criteria. Uploading documents from the AppConnect icon automatically extracts key field data from the SAP screen and uses them as index fields for the uploaded document.
Illustrated example
- User navigates to the PA20 screen, and chooses an employee record
- The Karomi AppConnect menu displays options to view or add HR documents
- Uploaded documents automatically use the Employee number as the index field
- View document option automatically searches for documents related to this employee number currently displayed in SAP

- View/Add HR documents related to employee records from the HR transaction screens
- View/Add Engineering Drawings and related documents from the MM screens
- View supplier invoices from the SAP Invoice transaction screen
- View product related documents like FMEA, Process Diagram or Control Plan while within SAP
- Link to Quality documents like Quality Manual, SOP or Work Instructions from the SAP interface
- View Legal Contracts and Agreements from within the SAP transaction screens
